Low frequency transformer is also called DC transformer and it is composed of silicon steel sheets with high magnetic permeability . And the primary winding is made by enameled wire. Low frequency transformers are based on the principle of electromagnetic induction. The most basic low-frequency equipment is made by two iron cores wrapped with coils. When an AC voltage passes through the coils, the current in the coils alternates magnetic flux and it generates another voltage along the iron cores. This voltage collides with the voltage originally transmitted on the iron core and it causes some loss of the originally transmitted voltage and make the voltage lower.
